Our story
Furniture worth keeping.
Furnishly started in 2016 in a Portland garage, with one stubborn idea: most furniture is built to survive the showroom, not the decade.
We had both spent years in the industry watching corners get cut where customers can’t see — particleboard cores behind a veneer, stapled frames, foam that collapses inside a year. So we started making the pieces we wanted for ourselves, and we published exactly how they were built.
Nine years later we work with eleven family-run workshops across North America and Europe. Some have been in the same family for four generations. We visit each of them at least twice a year and we know the people making your sofa by name.
11 workshops
Family-run, visited twice a year, named on every product page.
6 showrooms
Portland, Austin, Chicago, Brooklyn, Denver and Atlanta.
10-year warranty
On every frame we build. We repair before we replace.
Materials
What we use, and what we won’t.
Kiln-dried hardwood
Every upholstered frame is kiln-dried Appalachian hardwood, corner-blocked and double-doweled — never pine, never particleboard.
Solid wood, not veneer
Tables, case goods and shelving are solid oak, walnut or ash. Where we use an engineered core for stability, we say so on the page.
Honest textiles
Certified European flax linen, New Zealand wool and performance weaves rated to at least 50,000 double rubs.
Low-VOC finishes
Plant-based hardwax oils you can repair at home with a cloth — no factory-only lacquers, no formaldehyde-added glues.

Free design help
Book a designer, not a salesperson.
Our designers are salaried — they earn nothing on what you buy. Send a photo and your measurements and they’ll come back with a plan, swatch picks and honest advice about what you don’t need.
